STIHL, is a family owned business and a global technology leader in producing and marketing power tools for forestry, landscape maintenance and for the construction industry.
The STIHL group recognises and fulfils the needs of its domestic, rural and commercial customers through a network of over 100 New Zealand specialist dealers. It is this commitment to the customer and the product in both pre-delivery and after sales service that positions STIHL so strongly in the market.
STIHL contracted Experience Group to look after their activity day for their Annual National Dealer Conference in 2008, which took place in our capital city, Wellington.
Experience Group put together a full itinerary of activations which started off in the morning with the STIHL Amazing Race where 100 dealers split up into four teams and coaches and had to find their way to four iconic places in a rotational order and take part in a tour at each venue and find an answer to a question pertinent to that venue. Places visited were the Parliament Buildings including the iconic Beehive, the National War Memorial, the Wellington Cable Car and Museum, and the New Zealand Cricket Museum at the Basin Reserve. Each team was escorted on the coach by an Experience Group host who facilitated food and beverages on the coach and assisted with completing the STIHL quiz. Timings and planning were key in getting all four teams finishing up their morning race on time at the iconic Basin Reserve Cricket Grounds for a fabulous Kiwi BBQ.
The dealers were then treated to an exciting game of Backyard Cricket joined by well-known sporting personalities from the Black Caps. Dealers were able to test their cricket skills and bravery in the nets bowling to Black Caps batsmen and partake in various bowling, fielding and batting skills and drills. For dealers partners who did not want to partake in such activities, an afternoon of relaxing, boundary perimeter refreshments and afternoon tea was provided!
The STIHL activity day was a great way to get all dealers comfortable and relaxed with each other prior to the conference and proved a unique experience for them to partake in.
Experience Group prides itself on its uniqueness of being able to tap into its sporting contacts for 'money can't buy experiences'.
